About Me

Blog closed as of Dec 2012. Happy reading to everyone!

I lust for books, especially ones with lusty bits.

As a newlywed dear hubby has had to adjust to my affinity for staying up with a book into the wee hours, but he has shared his shelf space unselfishly (whew try saying that three times fast!).

Our rescued mutt, Kedzie, keeps him company when I am too enthralled in a story.

Working as a corporate recruiter in an office all day and being in my mid-twenties makes me a yuppie, but I adore my Logan Circle hipster neighborhood. I’ve lived in downtown DC for 4 years and never want to leave!

On to the important stuff, my favorite books by “genre” (although genre labels really vary if you ask me):

  1. Gentle Rogue, by Johanna Lindsey
  2. The Duchess, by Jude Deveraux
  3. Slightly Dangerous, by Mary Balogh
  4. Paradise, by Judith McNaught
  5. Match me if you can, by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
  6. Lord of Scoundrels, by Loretta Chase

  1. Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte
  2. Emma, by Jane Austen
  3. The Count of Monte Cristo, by Alexandre Dumas
  4. Snow Falling on Cedars, by David Guterson
  5. Clan of the Cave Bear and Valley of the Horses, by Jean M. Auel
  6. Savannah Blues, by Mary Kay Andrews (this is a brand new addition to my list!)
  7. Song of the Lioness Quartet, by Tamora Pierce (these are Young Adult books; I wrote a will when I was 10 and wanted to be buried with these and my teddy-bear, I’m not sure that sentiment has changed much!)

Non Fiction:

  1. Anything by Bill Bryson
  2. All Creatures Great and Small, James Herriot
  3. Angela’s Ashes, Frank McCourt

  3. Hi! Karen, Rocky’s mom, from Planet Books here! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog earlier and leaving a comment on Rocky’s birthday post instead of the Friday Finds post. You may be able to meet The Rockster one day becuase we are getting ready to move from Okinawa back to our hometown area of DC! I’m from Silver Spring, MD and my hubby is from NOVA. I love your blog and hope your readership goes up. You deserve it! I hope you don’t mind that I’m going to add you to my blogroll! (Not that I get a lot of readers or anything but you never know. LOL)
    Have a great weekend!
